The final round of the 2026 Genesis Invitational will start soon, and recently, there has been an increase in the fan fears about the weather. The Riviera Golf Course has been covered by clouds most of the time, which reduces vision on the course and makes the game impossible to play, eventually leading to the game being stopped. Something similar happened during the first round of the tournament, but what is the update about the final round?

Interestingly, according to Accuweather, the fourth round of this season’s Genesis Invitational may not be disrupted by weather. While there is a 9% possibility of cloud cover and approximately 86% humidity, the visibility on the golf course will be 24 kilometers. Aside from this, there is a 25% probability of light rain and a 5% chance of a thunderstorm.

Aside from all of this, there are wind disruptions for golfers, with winds gusting at 8 km/h from the west to southwest. In addition, wind gusts of up to 12 km/h are anticipated for the day. The temperature on the course will stay around 15 degrees, rising to 22 degrees in the afternoon. Interestingly, some light rain is expected late at night.

Talking about the leaderboard, Jacob Bridgeman currently leads the Genesis Invitational leaderboard with a total score of 19 under par. He is six shots ahead of second place, World No. 2 Rory McIlroy, who has a total score of 13 under par. Following them, Aldrich Potgieter is in solo third place on the leaderboard with a total score of 12 under par.

Walking into the final round, Jacob Bridgeman is favoured to win due to his six-shot advantage, but Rory McIlroy believes he can put Bridgeman under pressure.

Rory McIlroy discussed his Genesis Invitational third round in an interview, saying that he wished he could have gotten closer to Jacob Bridgeman. The golfer went on to say that while he was able to hit some excellent shots, it was the greens that gave him the most trouble during the third round. Despite Bridgeman’s large lead, McIlroy stated that he is pleased to be in the final tee group and that, as a result, he may put some pressure on the 26-year-old golfer.

According to Tennis World USA, McIlroy stated,

“The greens got really fast there at the end of the day. It was just that you couldn’t leave it dead. I just found the greens really, really difficult today. That was most of the frustration. Actually felt like I played pretty well. I wish I were a few shots closer to Jacob, but it looks like I’ll be in the final group. at least I’ll be able to keep an eye on him and maybe get off to a fast start and put a little bit of pressure on him.”

Bridgeman and McIlroy will be the 26th tee group in the final round of Genesis Invitational as they will be kicking off their round at 2:20 PM ET.
