LIV Golf had undergone a lot of changes before the start of the 2026 season. One of the biggest changes for them was transforming one of their team names from Iron Heads to Korean Golf Club. Interestingly, they not only changed the team name but also removed the previous captain, Kevin Na, who was later replaced on the circuit by 34-year-old South Korean golfer An Byeong-Hun, who became the new captain for the team.
Following his relegation from LIV Golf, Kevin Na has been looking forward to playing on the Asian Tour, and before his first tournament on the tour, the New Zealand Open, he discussed his experience on the PIF-backed league. In an interview, the five-time PGA Tour winner stated that the Saudi-backed league was a great enjoyment for him, and he was able to give his best in every tournament he took part in.
Na also stated that, while LIV Golf was a wonderful chapter in his life, he is still excited about what the next chapter will bring him and is looking forward to moving on. He was one of the first golfers to sign with the circuit in 2022 and played on the tour for four seasons. According to Bunkered, the 42-year-old golfer stated,
“I enjoyed it. I thought it was great. I think LIV is a great product. I think it was a part of my life, and I gave it all while I was there, but I‘m happy to move on. I’m excited about my next chapter. I’m really looking forward to my next chapter. I’m excited.”
Interestingly, Kevin Na was the first captain to be dropped by his team during the in-between season roaster move, showing how much emphasis LIV Golf is placing on competitive golf. Moving forward, Na has expressed some desire to return to the PGA Tour, but not just now.
Kevin Na does not have a long-term plan following LIV Golf’s relegation

In the same interview prior to his Asian Tour debut, the New Zealand Open, Kevin Na stated that he does not have a strong plan for the future. The golfer stated that he is delighted to return to professional golf and that while the PGA Tour is a terrific circuit to play on, he has not given much thought to his return just now. He also cherished his 19 years on the PGA Tour, but he is now focused on his forthcoming competition.
According to the Bunkered, Na stated,
“I think it’s one step at a time. Obviously, the PGA Tour is an amazing place. I really enjoyed my 19 years there. We’ll see how it goes. Obviously, every time you tee it up, you like to get in contention and have a chance. I know, obviously, there’s an Open Qualifying spot. I’d like to have a chance at that. I haven’t played in a while, but I feel like my game is feeling pretty good.”
The qualification tournament Na talk about for the Open Championship is the Open Qualifying Series (OQS), which is developed by the R&A to provide other circuits with a way to participate in one of golf’s oldest majors.
