The Texas Children’s Houston Open 2026 will commence on Thursday, March 26 at the Memorial Park Golf Course in Houston. The event, following the Florida Swing on circuit, will be the second-to-last tournament before the Masters. Owing to its schedule position close to the major, the non-signature event will see a stacked field teeing up to compete for the $1.782 million winner’s paycheck from the $9.9 million purse.

The latest edition of the Houston Open features 19 of the Official World Golf Ranking (OWGR) top 20 players. Notable names featuring in the contest include defending champion Min Woo Lee and World No.10 Chris Gotterup. It is pertinent to note that Scottie Scheffler was set to tee it up at the event. However, the World No.1 withdrew from the contest on Tuesday ahead of birth of his second child with wife, Meredith.

Owing to the exit, the leading spot on power rankings, previously helmed by Scheffler, is now taken up by LIV Golf returnee Brooks Koepka. The five-time major champion, whose last PGA Tour win came at the PGA Championship 2023, is the outright best pick for the event. The 35-year-old returns to Memorial Park after T9-T13-T18 finishes in Florida. It is pertinent to note that the ace golfer was an advisor to Tom Doak in the renovation of this course a few years ago.

Rankings topper Chris Gotterup sits second on the PGA Tour’s top-15 power rankings list. The 26-year-old golfer became a top name this year after winning the Sony Open in Hawaii in January and following it up with another victory at the WM Phoenix Open in February. Notably, the four-time PGA winner will be eyeing to improve on his T18 finish here last year. Gary Woodland, who finished T14 at Valspar despite his ongoing challenge with PTSD, completes the top-three this weekend.
