The Genesis Invitational 2026 concluded on Sunday with Jacob Bridgeman lifting his maiden PGA Tour trophy. Following the Signature Event’s success, the PGA Tour will now travel to PGA National for the Cognizant Classic in Palm Beach Gardens. The swing’s Florida Swing opener will see a stacked 121 player field compete for the top prize.
Joe Highsmith claimed his first PGA Tour title at The Palm Beaches event last year by completing a remarkable comeback from the cutline to win by two strokes. Interestingly, he’d beaten Sunday winner Bridgeman on the final day to clinch victory. Both the reigning champion and the latest Tour winner are returning this weekend.
While the121-player field will miss some notable names next week due to its scheduling post back-to-back signature events. The missing players list includes Rory McIlroy, who is rumored to skip the Tour’s Florida swing opener in favor of playing practice rounds at Augusta National to prepare his Masters title defense. It is pertinent to note that no top-10 players in the Official World Golf Rankings (OWGR) are in the field this weekend.
World No.11 Ben Griffin is the highest-rated player on the Cognizant Classic field. Coming off a T41 finish at The Riviera, the ace golfer will be eyeing a big comeback this weekend. He will be joined by fellow top-30 players including Ryan Gerard, Shane Lowry and Aaron Rai. Unsurprisingly, the top-rated players are also the dubbed best picks for the context starting Thursday, February 26.
Latest changes to the final field include withdrawals from Michael Kim and Taylor Pendrith, who are replaced by Daniel Berger and Sam Ryder. Adam Hadwin was also confirmed to the event as a sponsor exempt.
