Max Verstappen made his F1 debut a little over a decade ago, yet he has set multiple records in F1 that will be hard to beat for any driver. This includes the 19 wins in a single season in 2023, as well as scoring the most points in a season.
Going into the 2026 F1 season, Max Verstappen has the opportunity to break multiple records, out of which three are currently held by seven-time F1 champion Lewis Hamilton. Although the Dutchman arrived on the F1 scene eight years after the Briton, he’s in with a chance to beat Hamilton’s records.
Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen’s rivalry began in 2021 in what was the most intense title battle of the current century and arguably in the history of the sport. Going into 2026, the Dutchman will be in the running to break three records set by his former rival. Let’s have a detailed look at these records.
#1 Most wins with a single constructor in F1: Lewis Hamilton 84 wins vs Max Verstappen 71 wins
Lewis Hamilton joined Mercedes in 2013 following Michael Schumacher’s retirement. The Briton went on to dominate the sport for the remainder of the decade with the Silver Arrow and won a total of seven titles during his time at the Brackley-based outfit. In the 12 seasons with Mercedes, Hamilton racked up 84 wins.

Max Verstappen joined Red Bull just a handful of races into the 2016 season as Daniil Kvyat’s replacement. The Dutchman won his very first race with the Milton Keynes-based team. The 2025 F1 season was Verstappen’s 10th season with the team, and with 8 wins during the season, his win tally with the team reached 71.
Verstappen currently sits third in the ranking for drivers with the most wins for a single constructor, with Michael Schumacher (72) and Lewis Hamilton ahead of him. If Verstappen wins 14 races in the 2026 F1 season, he will surpass Hamilton’s record.
#2 Most consecutive wins at the same Grand Prix
Lewis Hamilton and Ayrton Senna currently hold the record for the most consecutive wins at the same Grand Prix. The seven-time F1 champion won the Spanish GP five consecutive times from 2017 to 2021. Senna, on the other hand, also won five consecutive races at the Monaco GP from 1989 to 1993.

The 2025 Japanese GP was Max Verstappen’s first win of the season, and it was also his fourth consecutive win in the land of the rising sun. If the Red Bull star wins the 2026 Japanese GP, he will equal Senna and Hamilton’s record of most consecutive wins at the same GP.
#3 Most number of races where a driver led every lap
Lewis Hamilton, over his nearly two-decade-long F1 career, has led 23 races from start to finish. The first one was the 2007 Hungarian GP, whereas the most recent one was the 2021 Qatar GP. The Briton led only two races from start to finish during his time at McLaren, while the others were from the time he dominated with Mercedes.
Max Verstappen, on the other hand, has led 17 races from start to finish. In 2025 itself, the Dutchman led four races from start to finish, which were Imola, Baku, COTA, and Las Vegas GP. If the Red Bull star leads 7 races from start to finish in 2026, he will pass Ayrton Senna (18 races) and Hamilton to become the record holder with the most number of races where a driver led every lap.
