Who Are the Top College Baseball Teams?

As any fan would suspect, the SEC currently dominates the top of the rankings.

    No. 1 Arkansas Razorbacks

Arkansas finished with a perfect 4-0 record last week and moved up to the No. 1 spot thanks to Tennessee’s struggles. The Razorbacks are now 30-3 on the season and 11-1 in the SEC.

Arkansas owns the word-of-mouth tiebreaker over Texas, who has the same conference record, because the Razorbacks have registered the more impressive victories. By defeating both Ole Miss and Vanderbilt on the road, the Razorbacks own ranked wins in road conference games, signifying their potential strength as the season progresses.

    No. 2 Texas Longhorns

Texas propels to the second spot after finishing the week 3-1 and improving their record to 26-4 on the season. While noted above that Arkansas’ most impressive wins came on the road, Texas themselves opened the nation’s eyes by defeating Georgia in a home series sweep.

Texas also swept LSU, who moved up a few spots to round out the top three.

    No. 3 LSU Tigers

The Tigers have rounded into form, finishing last week with a 4-0 record and now sit at 30-3 this year. LSU lost their series against Texas, just above them, otherwise, they’d be sitting pretty with a legitimate case to be No. 1.

However, they have to atone for that series loss before they can take the throne atop the SEC (and national rankings).
