Who Are the Top College Baseball Teams?

As any fan would suspect, the SEC currently dominates the top of the rankings.

    No. 1 LSU Tigers

Through the month of February, the LSU Tigers only dropped a single game—the first half of a doubleheader against Omaha, which adjusted their schedules and threw off what appeared to be everyone in attendance.

Still, the Tigers are an incredibly well-rounded unit, hitting everything in front of them. Derek Curiel, Jared Jones, Daniel Dickinson, Steven Milan, and Chris Stanfield have each played all nine games and were each batting over .333 at the plate through the month.

On the mound, Kade Anderson has shown up in a big way with 16 strikeouts in just his first two appearances, while both Anthony Eyanson and Chase Shores fanned 13 batters across their two starts.

    No. 2 Tennessee Volunteers

The Vols play second fiddle to just about no one in 2025. In fact, their hitting has been on par, if not better, than their two SEC foes ahead of them here.

Reese Chapman, Gavin Kilen, and Hunter Ensley have each already hit multiple home runs and have double-digit RBIs while batting over .400 from the plate. Liam Doyle and Marcus Phillips have shown out on the mound, with Doyle fanning 25 batters.

What may potentially turn this Volunteers’ team into a serious contender is their pitching depth. Reliever Tanner Franklin is averaging five strikeouts per appearance, or better yet, just under two strikeouts per inning pitched.

    No. 3 Arkansas Razorbacks

The Razorbacks continued their hot start to the season with dramatic run-rule victories in each game of their two-game series with UL-Monroe. The Hogs have been powered by their hitting, but despite a massive rain delay in the series, it was their pitching that saw their depth pushed to the limit with an even better response.

Arkansas scored 29 runs in their two outings against ULM to kick their March off to a hot start and a new season-high in the rankings.
