Nick Castellanos is a star right fielder and third baseman for the Philadelphia Phillies. In recent years, he has emerged as a star, qualifying for the All-Star Game in 2021 and 2023. While he was a star in recent years, this past season was not the best for him. He struggled with injuries at times and will likely head to a new team before next season. As a result, he has gotten plenty of attention since the Phillies were eliminated from the playoffs.
While Nick Castellanos gets plenty of attention, other members of his family also have large social media followings. Notably, his sister, Jacqueline, also gets plenty of attention on Instagram. She posted a photo on her Instagram story on Sunday morning, posing on a beach in a pink bikini with her dog.
The Relationship Between Nick Castellanos and the Philadelphia Phillies Became Frayed This Season
One of the reasons that it seems likely that Nick Castellanos will not be returning to the Phillies next season is because of his frayed relationship with the team. Castellanos was benched by the team in June because of an inappropriate comment he made after the team took him out of the defense late in a game.
Part of the issue was that this also ended his consecutive games played streak at 236. This led to him having a poor relationship with many players on the team as well.
In mid-October, team president Dave Dombrowski was asked about Castellanos’s future with the team.
“Well, we’ll see what happens,” Dombrowski said. “I don’t know. I mean, I’m not going to get into specific players that are on our roster under contract, but the things that you talked about are accurate. We’ll see what happens.”
Castellanos has reportedly been available for trade in each of the past two seasons.
Regardless of where Castellanos ends up, he will need to try to get healthy before the start of next season. He dealt with a knee injury throughout the year, which added to the reasons he was benched by the Phillies.
