Bad Bunny’s Super Bowl Halftime Show on Sunday received near-universal acclaim from fans. The majority of the NFL world praised the immense cultural representation of the Latino community by the global pop artist. He headlined the show during a distressing time for the Latin diaspora in the United States, as the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has cracked down on them.
Even the baseball world showcased its support for Bad Bunny. Trey Yesavage’s fiancee Taylor Frick, appreciated the performance on her Instagram story. She shared the photo of a banner that read, “The only thing more powerful than hate is love.”
Los Angeles Dodgers infielder Miguel Rojas, a proud member of the Latin community, also expressed his gratitude.
Puerto Rican-born, Katia Lindor, wife of New York Mets shortstop Francisco Lindor, is often vocal about her political views against the Donald Trump administration and was part of New York City mayor Zohran Mamdani’s mayoral inauguration committee. She also came out in support of her fellow countryman. She shared a message that read:
“Thank you for honoring your culture with that kind of pride at a time when our communities are being targeted and told to disappear.”

Bad Bunny’s performance transcended sports, art, and creativity during a 13-minute set that reached record viewership numbers. There were cameos from Puerto Rican singer Ricky Martin and Lady Gaga, who has been a big supporter of Bad Bunny, who came up from the lower-middle class of Puerto Rico and evolved into one of the most popular artists in the world.
During the performance, there were multiple references to celebrating Puerto Rican and Latin culture, including the stage setup – a lush green exterior showcasing sugarcane fields of the island nation surrounding a Puerto Rican neighborhood that symbolized the people back home on the island and in New York City. The performance ended with Bunny vocally acknowledging all countries in North, South, and Latin America to represent the true meaning of America.
Ronald Acuna Jr. Makes Appearance During Bad Bunny’s Halftime Show
The MLB has the biggest representation of Latin players among North American sports leagues, and it was quite fitting that one of its biggest stars was part of the biggest Latin American representation on a global stage in recent times.
Atlanta Braves superstar Ronald Acuna Jr. was part of the A-listers who stood on the porch of the pink house, or casita, as Bad Bunny performed on the roof. Other celebrities included Pedro Pascal, Cardi B, Jessica Alba, Karol G, Emiliano Vargas, Alix Earle, David Grutman, and Xander Zayas.
Ronald Acuna Jr.’s list of walk-up songs included Bad Bunny’s “Tití Me Preguntó” and “Un Verano Sin Ti.” The Venezuelan was one of many players, along with Juan Soto, Vladimir Guerrero Jr., Manny Machado, Ketel Marte, and Jackson Chourio, to use a Bad Bunny song during their walk-up.
