Yankees captain Aaron Judge tends to avoid the team’s X account and the frequent discussions about their performance and players. His comments about the Yankees’ social media came after Knicks guard Josh Hart compared the Knicks’ and Yankees’ X handles during a Roommates Show event at Fest NYC, organized by Fanatics.
Judge told the panel on stage, consisting of Hart, Jalen Brunson, and Matt Hillman, that even though he prefers to stay away from the team’s X handle, he acknowledges that fans just want their team players to be their best selves and perform at the highest level on the field.
“I try to stay away from it…but I think the most important thing is that Yankee fans want to see us be great. Sometimes the truth is hard to hear,” Judge said.

“I’m in Yankees Twitter. I love [it]. Yankees Twitter is as toxic as Knicks Twitter. Do you see any of it?”
Judge has been out of action for the Bronx Bombers since the start of June, when he sustained a rib injury. While currently on the IL, Judge underwent follow-up imaging of his injured ribs during the All-Star break, according to GM Brian Cashman.
What is Aaron Judge’s Biggest Accomplishment as a Yankee?
During the same show, Judge and Brunson discussed their roles as captains and leaders of their respective sports teams. Brunson, an eight-time All-Star, said his proudest moment wasn’t his numerous awards over the years but being named Yankees captain in 2023, when he signed a nine-year, $360 million contract extension.
“It’s the greatest honor of my career, by far. The chance to be named the Yankee captain was probably my biggest career accolade. It’s not something you’re just given once—you earn it every single day. Every time you show up for practice, every time you show up for a game, you’re representing your team,” Judge said.
“But you’re also being an example to everybody on your team, ‘OK, this is how you prepare, this is how you work.’ This is why you’ve got the ‘C’ on your chest, because of how you prepare and play the game. So for me that’s the coolest part,” he added.
The Yankee nation will be hoping dearly that their star man completes rehab as soon as possible and returns to the field as the ballclub pushes to contend for the top spot in the AL East, where they are currently second in the standings with a 54-42 record and just three games behind the current leaders, the TB Rays.
