Excitement continues to grow around the release of the EA Sports College Football 25 game after more than a decade of waiting. Lots of information has already been released with details on the game, including the voice talent that will be involved. However, not everyone shared excitement over the presentation, with one prominent ESPN reporter voicing concern.
Concerns Surrounding the Voice Talent on EA Sports College Football 25
A familiar cast of faces — and voices — have confirmed their appearance in EA Sports College Football 25. However, high-profile ESPN sideline reporter Holly Rowe took to social media on Thursday to question the lack of female representation amongst the personalities making up the game’s presentation.
How about including
some women @EASPORTS 30 years on the college football sidelines 🤷🏼♀️ https://t.co/KpGiBc8HuN— Holly Rowe (@sportsiren) February 23, 2024
Some of the most recognizable names in college football broadcasting have announced they’ll be adding to what is one of the most anticipated video games of all time.
Led by Kirk Herbstreit and Chris Fowler, the featured personalities include Kevin Connors, Jesse Palmer, Desmond Howard, David Pollack, and the face of College GameDay — Rece Davis. While drawing excitement from fans and media analysts alike, there is a distinct lack of female representation in the game.
Rowe has been one of the top reporters in sports broadcasting since arriving at ESPN in 1995. She has covered various sporting events, including women’s college basketball, the WNBA, college volleyball, and college football. ESPN currently has Rowe as the network’s lead sideline reporter for its coverage of the main college football game of the week.
Female sideline reporters have been prominent in the college football arena for decades. Reporters like Rowe, Laura Rutledge, Molly McGrath, and Katie George have been critical to the success of coverage for multiple networks, including ESPN.
While EA Sports has had female reporters in the Madden NFL franchise, the college football series has never had a female voice talent for the game since it started in 1993. The game developer has recently left out sideline reporters from its games for unknown reasons.
There has not been any word as to whether EA Sports College Football 25 will include sideline reporters or whether they’ll be included in future editions of the highly anticipated video game.

With roughly five months until the game’s release, it will be interesting to see if the game developer addresses Rowe’s comments or includes a female representative in their EA Sports College Football 25 presentation.
