The world of college football has rapidly transformed into a light version of the NFL. One key aspect of that is that news never stops and the sport never sleeps.
With National Signing Day for the Class of 2024 here, Colorado Buffaloes head coach Deion Sanders was set to make some type of announcement from Boulder. While no one truly knew what he was referring to, some speculated it was around a staff hiring. It wasn’t.
Deion Sanders: “Let’s Do This Thing”
According to a joint Instagram post from Rivals and Yahoo’s College Football accounts, Coach Prime is set to make a vague announcement at 10 a.m. MT on Wednesday, February 7. While an attached screenshot seemingly came from Sanders’ phone itself, the context hadn’t yet to be provided around what kind of message he’ll be announcing.
“I been ready,” Sanders was seen as saying.

The conversation surrounding Sanders’ announcement started with discussions around an ‘improvement,’ but even that gave little context. The conversation indicated that a change has already been made and a difference had already been felt.
In the end, it was merely a brand partnership that came at 10 a.m. MT instead of a potential coaching staff addition Buffaloes’ fans are awaiting.
“When do you want to announce this?” the question asks of Sanders.
“Wed 10 am MT,” Sander’s response began. “Let’s do this thing.”
An announcement coming on National Signing Day should come as no surprise, but the wording of the conversation certainly left fans of the program wanting more than an announcement around a partnership with a company apparently called ‘Redcon1.’
Sanders announced the partnership via his Instagram, going live to do so.
What is REDCON1?
According to their website, REDCON1 is a ‘mission-based company that creates premium supplements for people that need to get the most out of their workout and workday.’
REDCON1 offers a supply of protein, pre workout mixes, supplements, and even apparel. Plans for Coach Prime’s partnership weren’t readily available, but they have big plans together.
Fans are hoping the Buffs also have big plans for their on-field success in 2024 as well.
The Colorado Buffaloes have officially signed the lowest-ranked Big 12 recruiting class this season. With only six commitments for the class of 2024, the Buffaloes had no other option than to hit the transfer portal hard.
As such, Coach Prime and his staff have brought in 25 different players through the portal this offseason, including notable names such as Vanderbilt WR Will Sheppard, Houston DT Chidozie Nwankwo, and Arizona State’s B.J. Green, among others.
Regardless of their roster turnover, Coach Prime had everyone queued up with his announcement plans, only to leave fans wanting more.
