According to the CFN Strength of Schedule, the Kansas 2024 football schedule is the easiest in the Big 12. A season-opener against the Lindenwood Lions certainly contributes toward that, while the Illinois Fighting Illini and UNLV Rebels (a repeat of their Guaranteed Rate Bowl clash) round out a non-conference slate that could have been significantly more difficult.
Under their nine-game conference slate, Big 12 teams rotate between four and five road games each season, and the Jayhawks fall on the less desirable end of the rotation this fall. That said, the four home games on the Kansas 2024 football schedule should help power a winning record in the conference this fall.
The Jayhawks’ home opener comes against the TCU Horned Frogs, a team they lost narrowly to in 2022. Sonny Dykes’ current team is a shadow of that one. They also welcome a Houston Cougars team with significant questions hanging over it and an Iowa State Cyclones program that they beat on the road a year ago. The Colorado Buffaloes round out the home slate.

The five Big 12 road games on the Kansas 2024 football schedule pose some difficulty, with the Kansas State Wildcats and West Virginia Mountaineers both strong conference contenders. However, trips to the Arizona State Sun Devils, BYU Cougars, and Baylor Bears are all opportunities to add to the win column.
