“Who Yall Got?”: South Carolina HC Dawn Staley Shares Snippets From Thrilling Women’s Euros Final Appearance

Spain and England are facing off at the UEFA Women’s Euro 2025 final in Switzerland, and Dawn Staley took some time off from scouting high school AAU games and traveled to Europe to watch it all go down live.

The South Carolina head coach, who has grown to also be a big soccer fan over the years even posted a video of the two opposing squads entering the field for the championship match to crown the best women’s team in Europe.

    Dawn Staley captioned the post:

Staley is good friends with US women’s national team soccer manager Emma Hayes. They share a lot of things in common as coaches with a good championship record, being two of the highest-paid female coaches, and have also been very successful on the international stage.

Hayes acknowledged their similarities last year, saying to FOX Sports:

“Dawn and I are two of a kind. And honestly, what an incredible coach she is.”

Through Emma Hayes, Dawn Staley has gone to love and understand “the beautiful game” and even went to Australia to watch the Women’s World Cup live, enjoying it with Hayes from a suite in Sydney.

Hayes, who used to coach the Chelsea women’s team, has often been seen with Staley watching soccer matches abroad. She might also be scouting possible opponents for the USWNT for the next Women’s World Cup as current champion Spain takes on some of her former players at Chelsea, who are playing for England.

Dawn Staley Talks About Relationship with Emma Hayes

It is not just Emma Hayes who is full of praise for Dawn Staley. Staley has been loud in her support of her good friend, whom she has an open invitation for to go see a Gamecocks game live. Like Hayes, she also noted their similarities with one another.

“I just consider her a really good friend,” she told Fox Sports. I know there’s some similarities in what we do, being female coaches and successful female coaches. That sometimes is a lonely place to be. And there are things that we just lean on each other for that will just help expand us and help us grow.”

Both female coaches have also emphasized looking out for each other and elevating women’s sports. Through the last few years, women’s sports have grown in popularity, not just in the US, with it expected to reach record revenues this year.
