“I’m Going to Kill Her”: Sophie Cunningham Jokingly Calls Out Caitlin Clark for Nearly Ruining Her Swimsuit Deals

Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark is only in her second WNBA season and she is already the face of the league. While she is known for hitting impressive shots on the court, she is also a popular person in the Fever locker room. However, that does not mean that she does not sometimes annoy her teammates and friends.

Last week, her teammates, Sophie Cunningham and Lexie Hull, posted a photo on Instagram trying to ink a swimsuit brand deal.

“We are off to our game tonight. Convince us there’s a swimsuit brand that wants to partner with two Indiana Fever mermaids,” Cunningham wrote.

In the comments, Caitlin Clark jokingly told her teammates to focus on basketball.

“Swimsuit brands plz comment ‘focus on basketball.'”

On Wednesday, Sophie Cunningham appeared on the “Show Me Something” podcast. She jokingly called out Clark for ruining her opportunity at a swimsuit deal:

“I’m going to kill her. She was like, ‘Nobody comment, swimsuit brands tell them to get back to basketball.’ I was like, ‘Dude, you are ruining me and Lexie’s deals.’ I was like, we’re the ones that’ve actually been playing and we need a little break and that’s when we go to the pool, and I think only like five companies reached out, but if she wouldn’t have said anything.

“I was like dude, you don’t need to be a hater. I’ll get you a one-piece that like only shows your eyes. She did something and has this big brusie on her leg and I was like, ‘You’re finally getting color.’ She stays trolling me and Lexie.”

There Is Still No Timetable for Caitlin Clark’s Return

While Caitlin Clark is having fun off the court, she has been unable to play basketball for the past month. That is what Cunningham is referring to when she says that she’s the one actually playing. She has struggled with injuries this season, only appearing in 13 games thus far. Her most recent ailment is a groin injury.

Indiana coach Stephanie White spoke on Monday about Clark’s progression. She provided a positive update, saying that she is making progress. However, she did not give a timetable for her return.
