Paige Bueckers Drops 2-Word Comment Praising Ex-UConn Teammate, and It’s Not Azzi Fudd

Former UConn Huskies star and Dallas Wings guard Paige Bueckers recently praised a former teammate of hers, and it wasn’t her girlfriend, Azzi Fudd. On Sunday, Oct. 26, Minnesota Lynx rookie Aubrey Griffin uploaded a carousel post to her Instagram account that encapsulates her recent happenings in the past week. “A week to remember 💍,” Griffin captioned with a ring emoji.

Bueckers, who was featured on the fourth slide of the post, smiling for a photo with Griffin, took to her Instagram stories to repost her former teammate’s post and even included a caption. Griffin’s upload consists of photos and clips of a recent Huskies scrimmage, wherein the likes of Bueckers and Griffin played with the incoming 2025-26 UConn roster.

    “The goods,” Bueckers wrote.

Griffin was selected with the 37th overall pick in the third round of the 2025 WNBA Draft by coach Cheryl Reeve’s Lynx squad. This year’s campaign is over, and Griffin was not able to suit up in any of the games as she was sidelined throughout the year with a knee injury that required surgery. She entered the league after winning the 2025 NCAA championship alongside the likes of Bueckers.

In turn, Bueckers is coming off her first year in the league, having won the 2025 WNBA Rookie of the Year award. Despite leading former coach Chris Koclanes’ Wings team to a forgettable overall record of 10-34, Bueckers averaged outstanding numbers of 19.2 points, 3.9 rebounds, 5.4 assists, and 1.6 steals in around 33.3 minutes a game. The Hopkins, Minnesota, native was the first overall selection in the same draft class as Griffin.

Paige Bueckers Attends Arsenal Vs Crystal Palace Match

Apart from recently playing in a UConn Huskies scrimmage and supporting Aubrey Griffin’s latest Instagram post, Paige Bueckers also shared on her stories that she attended the English Premier League game between Arsenal and Crystal Palace. As she is currently in her first offseason after a WNBA campaign, it seems as though Bueckers is traveling the world and watching sports other than basketball.

Bueckers watched Arsenal score early through a volley that was enough to stay in the lead against Crystal Palace for the rest of the fixture, as they won 1-0. The 24-year-old will likely resume her duties as one of the focal points of the Dallas Wings system come the 2026 campaign.
