Sarah Chovnick and Trysta Krick, hosts of The Daily W podcast, recently discussed break-up rumours involving Paige Bueckers and Azzi Fudd. The speculation began innocently enough when fans noticed Azzi’s absence from Paige’s birthday celebration posts.
”It was Paige’s birthday and Azzi was nowhere to be found on any of Paige’s social or any of pictures from the birthday party”, Trysta stated (1:05).
“Them (Bueckers and Fudd) not wearing the necklaces that have the P and the A on them”, she further noted (1:28).
When Chovnick attended UConn’s media day, she went in with her eyes open to the swirling rumors. Fans had been tracking every detail, including the matching P and A necklaces the players previously wore. At media day, she confirmed there was no P necklace on Azzi.
“There’s no P necklace. I will say that there was no P necklace on”, Chovnick observed (3:07)
One of the most telling moment came during UConn’s championship ring ceremony on Friday night. The Huskies received their national championship rings from the previous season, and one tiny detail caught everyone’s attention. Engraved on the rings were the words “the power of friendship.”
“People clocked that one that was like almost like an infinity ring that has like an X on it. And Paige wears one, too. And so I looked at some page photos and I think we just don’t really at this point have any idea”, Trysta explained (4:21).

Krick Dismisses Breakup Rumors With a Practical Perspective
Krick offered perhaps the most practical take on why a breakup seems unlikely saying there’s no world that they truly broke up because how absolutely devastating would it be if you just went through a breakup as players are who see each other constantly through training camp, preseason, and the entire season.
These rumors were getting a lot of traction when Sports Illustrated wrote a think piece about why Azzi didn’t wish Paige a happy birthday on Instagram, which in Trysta’s opinion was “messy”.
