Iowa senior Lucy Olsen did about as good a job as any player could, replacing Caitlin Clark after her departure to the WNBA. In her senior year, after three years at Villanova, Olsen showed out, leading the team in points and assists with 17.9 and 5.1 per game, respectively. Olsen shot 43.6% from the field and 36% from deep, leading the Hawkeyes to a No. 6 seed in the NCAA tournament and second-round exit.
Now, with her eligibility expired, Olsen is headed for the 2025 WNBA Draft. Here are five potential landing spots for the 5’10” guard.

Top five WNBA Draft landing spots for Iowa guard Lucy Olsen
Chicago Sky
College Sports Network’s Keenan Warner slotted the pure scorer to the Sky with the 22nd overall pick in his post-March Madness mock. You can read his full analysis on Olsen here.
Dallas Wings
The Wings are almost certainly drafting Paige Bueckers No. 1 overall in Monday’s draft, but after a rough season that saw them once again finish near the bottom of the league, they’ll take all the help they can get. Bueckers should pair nicely in the backcourt with four-time All-Star Arike Ogunbowale, giving Olsen the necessary time to develop behind them.
Los Angeles Sparks
The Sparks, on their way to the bottom of the WNBA heap, found themselves without a single guard averaging double-digits, with a rotating cast of characters including Odyssey Sims, Aari McDonald, Lexi Brown and Kia Nurse.
Acquiring Kelsey Plum from the Las Vegas Aces was a huge first step, but another young guard on a team hoping young star Cameron Brink can carry them to glory could be helpful.
Indiana Fever
The Fever’s first year with Caitlin Clark was a promising step forward, but they still have work to do. Bringing in another Hawkeye — albeit one who never played with Clark — could be on their mind. The Fever seem to have the backcourt figured out, with Kelsey Mitchell starting alongside Clark, but pairing Olsen with Lexie Hull off the bench could be what the spark (pardon the pun) they need to take the next step.

Golden State Valkyries
The Valkyries need help just about everywhere. In their search for a “win-now” player, they could look toward the talented Olsen. She has the ability to score and put the team on her back, as she showed in multiple 20+ point performances this year and last year, when she averaged 23.3 points a game.
