Florida Gators freshman Kylee Kitts has entered the transfer portal after being redshirted in her first season of NCAA Division I basketball by the Gators. The guard was recruited by Florida from Hagerty High School and was ranked as a top 25 prospect in the 2025 recruitment class but ultimately reclassified to the 2024 class.
Top 5 Landing Spots for Florida Guard
According to sources from On3, Kitts currently has a “do not contact” tag, which means it’s highly likely that she has already chosen to commit to or has an offer from another program.

South Carolina Gamecocks
With rumors already suggesting that Kitts will play for the Gamecocks next season, the former Hagerty High School guard will have the opportunity to play for a championship contender in her first real season. The Gamecocks also currently need a player at the guard position, as Bree Hall has declared for the WNBA Draft, making this a perfect fit for both parties. This also means that Kitts will have the opportunity to link up with her sister, Chloe Kitts.
Oklahoma Sooners
When she originally declared for Florida, Kitts also had offers from multiple other Division I schools, including Oklahoma and UCF, which were her finalists before she ultimately decided to declare for the Gators.
The guard would have a much higher chance of playing at Oklahoma than she would at either Florida or South Carolina, with the added bonus of linking up with Raegan Beers and Aaliyah Chavez. The Sooners currently need a tall guard on their roster, making Kitts, at 6’4″, a viable option.
USC Trojans
Another team Kitts would see good game time at is USC, with the opportunity to link up with star guard Juju Watkins. USC currently needs a replacement for WNBA-bound Kiki Iriafen ahead of next season. Kitts will have the opportunity to play for a championship contender and play alongside and learn from one of the best talents in NCAA basketball to this day, who looks likely to be the next big thing.
UCF
If Kitts is seriously considering her playing time in the future, then making the step down to UCF would mean she would see significantly more time on the court, with the trade-off that she would be joining a program that did not qualify for the NCAA Championship last year. Similar to Oklahoma, UCF is also in need of a tall guard on its roster, meaning it could have some interest in the sister of the South Carolina Gamecocks star.
Louisville Cardinals
The Louisville Cardinals head coach has a massive job on his hands. He has to replace three of his top four scorers from last season, including guard Jayda Curry, who has declared for the WNBA Draft. This leaves a hole in the roster for a guard who can score points.
Kitts is credited by many for her skills at creating scoring chances, averaging 13.1 points per game in her final season in high school. Kitts could potentially fill the large hole left by Jayda Curry.

South Carolina Gamecocks forward Chloe Kitts, coming off a career-best season where she helped South Carolina reach the NCAA Championship game, averaging 10.2 points per game and 7.7 rebounds, recently posted on Instagram, showing support for her sister’s decision.
“New Beginnings,” Chloe captioned, reposting her sister’s decision to enter the transfer portal.
