Kim Mulkey’s New Transfer Portal Recruit, MiLaysia Fulwiley Addresses Critics: “They Gone Hate You Regardless”

MiLaysia Fulwiley has received a lot of flak after transferring from South Carolina to LSU, given that she was one of the most important players for the Gamecocks during her time there. However, the new LSU Tigers guard is addressing her critics, and she is doing it while dancing.

Fulwiley took to TikTok to address all those criticizing her, urging fans to “embrace” the haters as they will be hating regardless.

“be you, they gone hate you regardless,” she wrote on her TikTok video. “its your life, not there’s.”

She then had a poignant message to fans in her video description about haters, saying that they are actually fans in reality.

“Embrace the haters, they really your #1 fans in real life,” she wrote in her video description.

Fulwiley announced her transfer to LSU back in April, shortly after making it to the NCAA national championship game with the Gamecocks. The move shocked many as she provided a spark off the bench, averaging d 11.7 points, 2.8 rebounds and 2.0 assists last season.

Her move to LSU, however, has raised questions if she would remain a bench player with the Tigers. Kim Mulkey’s squad already has Mikaylah Williams and Flau’jae Johnson as two possible starting guards, with both also having a similar role with her on the court. As with many high-profile transfers, this also sparked some fan backlash from the school she left behind.

It Only Took One Phone Call For MiLaysia Fulwiley To Transfer To LSU, Says Kim Mulkey

As for what it took to get MiLaysia Fulwiley to go from one of the biggest players in powerhouse South Carolina to transfer to rival LSU, Kim Mulkey says that it did not take much coaxing. In fact, she said it just took one phone call from her to seal the deal.

“It didn’t take much. I spoke to her and her mother one time. One time. And she has not even come here on a visit. She has played against us enough to know our style of play. These young people do their homework,” she said back on May 2 (via SI.com)

She then praised the former South Carolina sixth woman, saying that Fulwiley is an “exciting” player who would be adding a lot to her program at LSU. Mulkey has been known for developing her guards well, and Fulwiley is just the latest addition to her roster.
