Kim Mulkey has been at LSU since 2021. In the four years she has been in Louisiana, Mulkey has brought glory days back to her home town. She has developed a basketball powerhouse in a very short time. With stars like Angel Reese, Flau’jae Johnson, Aneesah Morrow and more, Kim Mulkey has led some of the brightest talents in women’s basketball right now.
From Reese to Johnson, players have appreciated how Mulkey has helped their careers. She has always shown an unmatched passion and dedication for the game. Her intensity on the sidelines and her personal relations with her players have been a thing of praise in most conversations. However, this time Mulkey faces a serious accusation of misconduct and misbehavior from a former player.
Recently, ex-LSU star Alexis Morris accused Kim Mulkey of “grooming” in a rant posted on her TikTok.
“I’m not going to say I was just the best. Like I had little problems like sometimes I didn’t go to study hall. I’m a f*cking student athlete like everybody else. I wasn’t a perfect student athlete. You know what I’m saying? But that has nothing to do with this grooming situation. So it ain’t no “let me tie this into this”. No, it is what it is. Period. So yeah, I’m just speaking. I’m just speaking my truth, man. To me, I hate, I hate that I had to go through this sh*t. I hate that I even got to,” Morris made the revelation. (0:39)
She continued the rant:
“I don’t have to come on here and share, but I just hate that I had to experience this sh*t with people that I genuinely love. I genuinely trusted these people. I genuinely thought like especially this person. And I just thought I had her as a a companion, as a friend, as a coach. Like she is older. She is like 50. I’m truly thinking like, you know, this is somebody that I could depend on later in life. I’m young, you know what I’m saying? Like I’m young. I’m looking for guidance in certain areas. And she played on my vulnerability. That’s what groomers do. That’s what they do. They play on your vulnerability.”
Morris called Mulkey a groomer and blamed her for taking advantage of her. The ex-Suns star also blamed Mulkey for a rift with Angel Reese and Flau’jae Johnson.
Did Kim Mulkey cause a rift between LSU Big 3?
After calling Kim Mulkey a groomer, Alexis Morris also shared how she and other coaches affected the team morale. She claimed that the coaches including Kim Mulkey fed them different things. She said:
“They really tried to make me out to be the bad guy. Stopped all my NIL deals who just start playing little mind games between me and the big three trying to make it seem like, you know, certain coaches putting bugs in their minds and in their ears playing us against each other behind the scenes. It’s just so much fool.” (1:56)
By Big 3, she meant Angel Reese, Flau’jae Johnson and Kamilla Cardoso. Is there really some truth behind Morris’ claims? Or is it just her lashing out?
