‘It’s Right There’: Kate Martin Gets 100% Real on Staying at Hotel Where Ex Iowa Star Caitlin Clark’s Has Her Poster Plastered

It is no secret that the city of Indianapolis is crazy for their star player, Caitlin Clark, with the city’s JW Marriott hotel featuring a gigantic poster of her. However, as her former Iowa Hawkeyes teammate Kate Martin and the Golden State Valkyries visited the Fever, she had something to say about Clark, especially as they were staying in that very JW Marriott with the gigantic Caitlin Clark poster.

In an interview with CBS Sports’ Matt Lively, Kate Martin spoke her mind about what she really thinks of staying in a hotel with a massive Caitlin Clark poster.

“Yeah, and that’s where we stayed, so it’s just literally right there on the building, so you know, it’s cool how this city has embraced her and I just think it’s cool to see one of your best friends thriving,” said Clark’s former Iowa teammate Kate Martin.

Despite going their separate ways after college, Martin and Clark have remained good friends despite being on different teams. Martin has so far been dominant against her former Iowa teammate since they both went pro, being undefeated against Caitlin Clark since leaving Iowa. They have met four times, with the teams Martin has been on always winning against Clark’s Fever.

Their latest clash happened on Wednesday in Indianapolis, with Golden State going away with a blowout victory 80-61. Martin had five points and two rebounds in that win, while Clark was relatively quiet that night with ten points, five rebounds and six assists.

After the tipoff, it was all business, with the two matching up against one another. Martin was shown even scoring one against the person whom she calls one of her best friends.

The Golden State Valkyries have improved to 10-9 this season, surprising many as the newest team in the league has been doing a lot better than expected. However, this also meant that the Indiana Fever have gone down to 9-10.
