A new season of women’s college basketball is underway. Non-conference games have started, and both Iowa State and Southern are heading into their second games of the season already. No. 14-ranked Iowa State is coming off a dominant 85-36 win over St. Thomas NB on Monday. Conversely, Southern is coming off an 86-51 loss to No. 21-ranked Iowa.
Iowa State vs Southern Jaguars Prediction
Southern struggled last game against Iowa, a team that is ranked below Iowa State. As a result, we do not expect the Jaguars to fare any better against the Cyclones. We are predicting the Cyclones to have a dominant showing on Wednesday night, starting their season off 2-0.
One of the most anticipated stories of this matchup will be the play of Iowa State center Audi Crooks. She was a dominant force for Iowa State last year, averaging 23.4 points, 7.5 rebounds, and 1.5 assists per game. In her first game this season, she had 20 points, two rebounds, two assists, one steal, and one block.
While it was a strong performance, her rebounding numbers were much lower than expected. Fans will be watching to see if she bounces back on Wednesday.

Iowa State vs Southern Jaguars Injury Report
There has not been any indication from the coaching staff of either team that injuries will have an impact on this game. It is still early in the season, and most teams are still healthy unless they dealt with preseason injuries. That appears to be the case in this matchup. However, it is possible that closer to game time that the coaching staff will make announcements if players are dealing with currently unknown injuries.
