California Golden Bears guard Mia Mastrov, a close friend of Hanna and Haley Cavinder, gave her followers a glimpse of her fun-loving side during a tropical beach getaway. The 22-year-old guard shared an Instagram reel where she could be seen enjoying the sun and waves while rocking a white bikini with blue polka dots.
The clip captured Mastrov strolling in and out of the water, embracing the carefree beach vibe. To complete the aesthetic, she paired the visuals with Lana Del Rey’s dreamy hit “West Coast.” For the caption, Mastrov used several sea-themed emojis.
“🐬💙🦋🐟🐳🌀🩵,” she captioned her post.

While Mastrov is best known for her role with the Golden Bears women’s basketball team, her social media presence has steadily grown. She boasts nearly 460k followers on Instagram alone. Her connection to the Cavinder twins has also brought her more into the spotlight.
Hanna and Haley, who built a massive following through both basketball and social media, often comment on her posts. The twin sisters commented on her day-old post where Mastrov made a “coffee run.”
“fit fit fit,” Hanna Cavinder wrote.
“Cool girl,” Haley Cavinder wrote.

These three have been friends for a while now. Although they’re rarely spotted together, Hanna and Haley always show love to the 22-year-old with their comments on her posts. The Cavinder twins have a strong social media presence as well.
Combining the followers on their individual accounts and the Cavinder Twins’ joint account, they have over 2.5 million followers. Even though social media has always been seen as a tricky business, the new generation of athletes has shown that it can be navigated carefully and used to one’s advantage.
Haley Cavinder On How She Manages To Share Her Personal Life On Social Media
Social media, despite its rare burst of positivity, is a vile place. Online trolls have the ability and freedom to get under anyone’s skin with their relentless pursuit to hurt the person on the other side. The Cavinder twins have been subjected to that brutality in the past.
However, they’ve moved on from that and now have a better understanding of the platform. Haley often shares her life updates on social media, including her personal life with Jake Ferguson. During a Q&A session on “The Cavinder Twins” YouTube channel in Jan. 2024, she revealed why she feels more confident in doing so.
“Honestly, I’m very confident and comfortable with sharing my relationship because Jake was very loud about it,” Haley said (21:46).
“I’m a confident girl. But when people are saying stuff about you, like, if you have a boyfriend and someone is talking about you online with your boyfriend and it goes roles reversed, like, coming at your features, I’m like, ‘Dude, this is new.’ Obviously, Jake is a great guy, but you don’t wanna be called ugly on the internet 24/7, and your boyfriend sees it,” she added.
Today, the Cavinder twins are a force on social media. But their confessions like this are harsh reminders that the social media fame that looks very appealing from afar has very little upside to it.
