Hanna Cavinder Denies Involvement in Carson Beck’s Miami Recruitment – ‘I Was Not Involved at All’

When former Georgia quarterback Carson Beck announced that he was transferring to Miami, many speculated that his girlfriend, Hanna Cavinder, had a hand in it.

However, the Miami women’s basketball star finally debunked the speculations on Tuesday, denying any involvement in Beck’s decision to join the Hurricanes for his final season in college football.

When asked about Beck’s decision, Cavinder denied that she had any involvement in him choosing Miami.

“Honestly, I was not involved at all. I know that a lot of people probably think that. But no, I was not involved at all. It was honestly what was the best decision for him and where he was gonna fit and be able to be successful. I’m super excited for him. It’s very convenient. Obviously, you can’t beat Miami and the people here,” Cavinder said per On3.

Beck’s decision to move to Miami was a surprising one. The quarterback suffered a season-ending UCL injury during the first half of Georgia’s win over Texas in the SEC Championship. He ended the season with 3,485 yards, 28 touchdowns, and 12 interceptions.

Following the UCL injury, Beck declared for the 2025 NFL Draft. Then he made a U-turn and entered the NCAA transfer portal to move to Miami. It has been less than two months since he transferred, and head coach Mario Cristobal cannot wait to see what the former Georgia quarterback has to offer the Hurricanes in the coming season.

“[We wanted Beck for] a lot of the reasons why we liked Cam [Ward] — besides the accuracy and the strong arm, and the ability to just elevate a football team, the guy is just poised to have a great season with the right protection, the right scheme,” Cristobal said.

“Our scheme fits him; our scheme is designed to be really powerful and strong upfront, to get the ball to the playmakers outside, to protect him really well, and a very diversified passing game that has a lot of autonomy to it. So he fits us perfectly.”

Beck recently had his elbow brace removed, and he is reportedly recovering well. Meanwhile, there were speculations that Beck’s transfer to Miami would land him more lucrative Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) deals. With $4.4 million, Beck ranks No. 5 in the college football NIL rankings.
