Hanna Cavinder Shares Ab Workout Routine

Former NCAA basketball player Hanna Cavinder has generously shared her full abdominal workout, which she attributes to the development of her core strength. This workout has a fairly strong systemic focus, with all the various muscle groups of the core being trained and also includes weighted workouts to aid in results.

“Here is my current ab routine when building my core. I repeat this exercise two to three times a week and then I also do three rounds of this every time I do it,” Cavinder explained when sharing her routine.

Cavinder’s perspective is to take a consistent approach to core training while performing progressive overload. She completes this specific workout two to three times a week, completing three full rounds at each of the sessions. The frequency worked for her in both recovering and progressing the development of her core.

“I love working my obliques so I always start with oblique side crunches. I do 20 each side,”  Cavinder shared.

“After that, I do plank pull throws using weights. Adding weights to my core workout is so ideal because it really emphasizes using my core muscles and working the deep core,” Cavinder explained.

After the weighted in-and-outs, Cavinder moves on to plank side dips, performing them slowly and with control. This is followed by mountain climbers to further target the obliques and lower core. The routine ends with 20 leg raises and weighted Russian twists. She encouraged all her viewers to try it out.
