LSU star Flau’jae Johnson is suiting up for the red, white and blue for the first time ever, and she is making the most out of her time in Santiago, Chile for the FIBA AmeriCup 2025. The basketball star, whose NIL is valued at $1.5 million, received a big shoutout from her boyfriend, Chris Hilton Jr. as she represents flag and country.
The LSU football star told his girlfriend that he loves her infinitely in his Instagram story on Sunday. Johnson replied a few hours later with a two-word reaction on her own Instagram story.
“Thanks baby,” Flau’jae Johnson wrote in her caption with a heart emoji.
The FIBA AmeriCup serves as the qualifier for the FIBA Women’s Basketball World Cup in Germany in 2026. While every other team usually sends their best professional players for this regional championship that pits the national teams of both North and South America against one another, the United States sent a contingent of college stars, with Flau’jae Johnson being one of the biggest names representing the United States.
As for her relationship with former LSU athlete Chris Hilton Jr., the two revealed that they are dating one another on Christmas Day in 2024. Johnson, who is also a rapper, featured Hilton on several music videos for two of her singles from the album “Flau & B,” where she references her relationship with him.
The two are very sweet with one another on social media, often posting a lot of their pictures with each other on Instagram.
Flau’jae Johnson and Team USA Off To a Red-Hot Start During the 2025 FIBA AmeriCup With Dominant Win
The Americans are coming into the FIBA AmeriCup as the favorites to win it all, despite just sending a college team instead of WNBA stars. The team made a statement on Saturday during their opener against host country Chile, dominating the team by 61 points, 108-47.
The Chileans kept it close in the first quarter, with the Americans only leading by five points. However, the Americans slowly started gathering steam to blow away their South American opponents by the second quarter. They were so dominant that Chile only scored two points in the fourth quarter.
Despite being one of the team’s headliners, Flau’jae Johnson was relatively quiet during the game, scoring only three points, but did have six rebounds, two assists, and a game-high four steals.
The Americans will next take on Colombia on Sunday, and then Puerto Rico on Monday. They will close out their Group B campaign against fellow North American team, Mexico, on Wednesday.
