LSU head coach Kim Mulkey is known for her plethora of outrageous outfits, and her top player, Flau’jae Johnson, often takes a dig at her fashion choice. Mulkey was enjoying the Washington Mystics vs. Dallas Wings game on Sunday, and Johnson, a well-known fashionista, let her opinions on her coach’s fashion choice be known:
“Don’t worry yall im bout to start styling her I can’t take it no more. She too rich for this !!” wrote Flau’jae Johnson on X.

However, the LSU star soon realized that Mulkey would probably make her pay for that tweet, one way or another once she gets back to Baton Rouge.
“I’ll take the suicides 😓,” Johnson tweeted after.

Flau’jae Johnson is expected to take over the leadership role at Baton Rouge, as she was one of the few players from that 2023 championship team left. There were rumors circling that she was entering the transfer portal, but that did not happen as she chose to stay with Mulkey for one more season.
Last season, Johnson, who has a side career as a rapper, averaged 18.6 points, 5.6 rebounds and 2.5 assists per game for the Bayou Tigers last season.
Flau’jae Johnson suiting up for FIBA AmeriCup tournament in Chile
Before she goes back to Baton Rouge though, Flau’jae Johnson will be going abroad to play for the red, white and blue. She will be headlining a loaded collegiate US team alongside TCU’s Olivia Miles as part of a 12-woman squad heading to Santiago later this month.
This will be Flau’jae Johnson’s international basketball debut, which means that this will be her first time representing the United States in FIBA competition. She will be joined by Raegan Beers (OU), Audi Crools (Iowa State), Gianna Kneepkens (UCLA), Hannah Stuelke (Iowa). Madison Booker (Texas), Joyce Edwards (South Carolina), Hannah Hidalgo (Notre Dame), Kennedy Smith (USC), Mikayla Blakes (Vanderbilt), and Grace Van Slooten (Michigan State).
Duke head coach Kara Lawson will be coaching the team. She will bring extensive international competition knowledge to her college squad, having won the Olympic gold medal back in 2008.
The tournament will be held from June 28 to July 6, with the Americans being part of Group B. They open the tournament against hosts Chile and are in the same group as Colombia, Puerto Rico and Mexico.
