Following a 2024-25 basketball season in which Duke freshman center Arianna Roberson sat out due to a knee injury she sustained in the 2024 FIBA 3×3 U18 World Cup, the Blue Devils posted a clip on social media teasing her return.
Arianna Roberson’s Injury Rehab Progress Revealed for Upcoming ACC Title Shot
Duke women’s basketball recently shared a major update on freshman center Roberson’s recovery. The five-star recruit and McDonald’s All-American suffered a season-ending knee injury while competing at the FIBA 3×3 U18 World Cup last year in Hungary before her college season even began.
Shortly after the injury, it was announced that she would miss the entire 2024 season.
Her injury looked so serious at the time that many people didn’t believe she would be ready to compete in 2025. But according to recent updates, the Blue Devils are preparing for their 2025 NCAA season, and Roberson is a key part of that plan.

Since the injury, she has been undergoing intensive rehabilitation. In her latest update, she shared her optimism about the recovery process.
“We are seven months post-op, super excited about that,” Roberson said in a video posted by Duke Women’s Basketball. “This whole journey has been a long process, and there’s still more to go. Just building and gaining muscle is my focus, and I’m working on getting better. Everything is going well, and I can’t wait to get back on the court.”
Now, this update gives Blue Devil fans a reason to smile. It proves that Ari is pushing herself hard to come back stronger. Her steady progress brings hope, especially as Duke prepares for the 2025 season.
The timing of her return matters more than ever. Last season, Duke lost both Kennedy Brown and Camilla Emsbo. With both centers gone, the team had no true presence in the paint. That made Roberson’s injury an even bigger blow.

Because of that, the Blue Devils had to make changes. Without a natural center, they turned to sophomore forward Delaney Thomas. She had to take on a bigger role and battle under the basket.
Now, with the former Clark High School standout on the road to recovery, fans can look forward to a stronger frontcourt. One step at a time, she’s working toward filling that crucial spot once again.
