Chicago Sky stalwart Angel Reese and her team have not been on good terms lately. This was evident again when Reese was suspended for the first half of their game against the Las Vegas Aces on Sunday, Sept. 7, due to some of her comments that were determined to be detrimental, according to coach Tyler Marsh’s team.
As the rift between Reese and the Sky franchise continues to grow, the chances of Reese requesting a trade this offseason or the Sky trading her away increase. Let’s look at five potential destinations for Reese.

But, with the recent retirement of WNBA legend Diana Taurasi, the Mercury is in search of their next star to build around. Should they be able to snag Reese from the Sky, they can have her thrive down low while the rest of the team follows suit with the aforementioned plan.

Coach Noelle Quinn’s Seattle Storm has always had a reputation for producing and playing out star forwards and centers. The franchise currently has an influx of stalwarts such as Nneka Ogwumike, Dominique Malonga, and Ezi Magbegor. Reese’s insertion into the Storm can give her the chance to be the star that the team moves forward with in a culture that embraces towering players.
#3 Connecticut Sun
The Connecticut Sun are not exactly regarded as one of the premier teams or destinations for any WNBA player. But coach Rachid Meziane’s squad has always been one or two pieces away from truly becoming a formidable force in the league. With this, the team could opt to trade for Reese, who possesses national championship experience and potential stardom that could bring the Sun over the hump.
#2 Minnesota Lynx
The Lynx, spearheaded by regular-season MVP frontrunner Napheesa Collier, are gunning for the 2025 WNBA championship as the clear-cut No. 1 team for the season. But coach Cheryl Reeve’s team relies heavily on streaky shooting and perimeter play. Should Reese be able to find herself on the Lynx, she’ll immediately join a winning franchise that may be a stalwart away as their missing piece to the championship puzzle.

Former UConn Huskies star Paige Bueckers hasn’t had the best debut season in the WNBA. Despite being the current frontrunner to win the 2025 WNBA Rookie of the Year award, her team has long been eliminated from this year’s playoffs with a lowly 9-34 record. But Bueckers has always thrived with a stalwart that she can play with on the pick-and-roll, and Reese, who is a star center, can fit that need as a dynamic duo for Dallas.
