Recently, South Carolina women’s basketball coach Dawn Staley sent a heartfelt message as she celebrated the achievements of three of her former players, Te-Hina Paopao, Bree Hall, and Sania Feagin, who were selected in the 2025 WNBA Draft.

The selection of Paopao, Hall, and Feagin in this year’s WNBA Draft showcases the strength of the South Carolina Gamecocks program under Staley. Since 2016, the team has produced 11 WNBA draftees, including nine first-round picks.
This year’s draft added another three more names to the impressive list, projecting the program’s consistent ability to develop elite talent. Staley was a three-time national champion coach. She has built a legacy of excellence, and her pride in these players reflects both their on-court success and off-the-court achievement.
Paopao, a 5’9″ guard from Oceanside, California, transferred to South Carolina from Oregon in 2023 and thereafter became a role player in the Gamecocks’ success. During her two seasons with the team, she helped lead the team to a national championship in 2024 and a runner-up finish in 2025, against UConn in a game that ended in 82-59 points.
She is known for her steady playmaking and sharpshooting ability; Paopao shot an impressive 42.2% from three-point range during her tenure.
Hall, a 6’0″ guard from Dayton, Ohio, spent four years with the Gamecocks, contributing to two national championships. Hall emerged as one of the top defenders in women’s college basketball, often tasked with guarding the opponent’s best perimeter players.
Offensively, she had a 38.3% shooting rate from beyond the arc in her final two seasons.
Feagin, a 6’3″ forward from Forest Park, Georgia, took a different path to the draft. For much of her first three seasons, she played behind WNBA stars Aliyah Boston and Kamilla Cardoso, limiting her minutes.
However, in her final year (2024-25), Feagin stepped into a starting role and did well by averaging 8.5 points per game on an efficient 60% field goal percentage.
