Despite the 2025 March Madness tournament, the transfer portal is officially open and very active. One of the most recent women who declared herself for the transfer portal was Georgia Tech’s guard, Dani Carnegie.
Carnegie is coming off an impressive freshman year, during which she played in 29 games. She averaged 12.9 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 1.9 assists. She connected on 132 of her 345 field goals, shooting a respectable 38.3%. So, as Carnegie prepares for the transfer portal, what are five potential landing spots for Georgia Tech’s guard?

Top 5 Landing Spots for Dani Carnegie
NC State Wolfpack
First and foremost, Carnegie could be looking to go to a team that makes a deep run in March, and if that’s the case, look no further than the NC State Wolfpack. This season, the Wolfpack is led by seniors Aziaha James, Madison Hayes, and Saniya Rivers. However, they look poised to have a good team next year.

While NC State will lose its fair share of seniors this season, the Wolfpack could be the perfect spot for Carnegie. Zoe Brooks, Zamareya Jones, and Tilda Trygger could be seen in bigger roles next season, and adding Carnegie to that group could make it very special.
Auburn Tigers
Another team that could be a big potential landing spot is the Auburn Tigers. Auburn is coming off not one of its best years. They finished the season with 12 wins and 18 losses and didn’t even come close to qualifying for a playoff spot. However, they still have a solid young core group.
Taliah Scott and Yuting Deng look poised to be Auburn’s next major duo next year. Adding Carnegie to the fray could help give Auburn that push to get back into the playoff picture. The Auburn team’s youth is exciting, and Carnegie could be a big piece of that team going forward.
LSU Tigers
LSU could be a picture-perfect team for Carnegie. Carnegie is more than likely looking for a team that can give her the resources she needs to grow, and going to a women’s college basketball powerhouse like LSU could be right up her alley. LSU is currently 30-5 and one of the favorites to win the whole thing this year.
LSU is led by junior Flau’Jae Johnson and senior Aneesah Morrow. However, sophomore Mikaylah Williams has made her presence felt this season and could be primed for an even bigger year next year. Adding Carnegie to a team with potentially Johnson and Williams could make LSU even better than they are now, and that’s saying something.
UConn Huskies
UConn could be looking to be very active in the transfer portal, as they will be losing a couple of their big players this season in the WNBA Draft, like Paige Bueckers. However, Azzi Fudd will be coming back for one more year, and she will likely be playing with freshman phenom Sarah Strong.

Adding Carnegie to a group of Strong and Fudd could make UConn that much better. UConn is already one of the most dominant teams in college basketball, and they more than have the resources to help Carnegie get to that next level. This very well might be the team to land Carnegie.
Farleigh Dickinson Knights
Carnegie is from Mount Vernon, N.Y. It wouldn’t be surprising to see her want to come play near her home state. If that’s the case, Farleigh Dickinson University could be a big team to watch out for. FDU has the resources to give Carnegie what she needs and is a notorious college basketball school for both men and women.
