The big reveal happened during ESPN’s “Vibe Check”, where Chiney called her sister via FaceTime, with Chiney admitting that she did not know if her sister already knew that she would be a starter for this year’s WNBA All-Star Game in Indianapolis. As it turns out, Nneka did not know at all, and Chiney broke the news excitedly to her younger sister.
“What up, family! How you doing sis? I don’t know if you got a call,” said the former Stanford Cardinal and WNBA MVP.
“Congrats… You’re an All-Star starter!” Chiney screamed after finding out nneka did not know yet.
Nneka Ogwumike had a stellar college career at Stanford and has had a seamless transition with the WNBA, currently playing for the Seattle Storm. Her sister, Chiney Ogwumike, was also a standout during her time at Stanford and had a great WNBA career, last playing for the LA Sparks in 2020 and is now a radio show host for ESPN.
The Seattle Storm star is averaging 17 points, 7.9 rebounds, 2.2 and 1.4 steals per game during the 2025 season.
