Caitlin Clark’s Teammate Firing Back At Jason Whitlock’s ‘Wig’ Criticism Elicits Reactions From Fans – “Engagement Farming Yet Again”

    Sports commentator Jason Whitlock is known for his unkind words and criticism. Sometimes those come at the expense of someone’s personal feelings. Something similar happened when he tried making a joke at the expense of Caitlin Clark’s Indiana Fever teammate Aari McDonald.

    On Sunday, Whitlock took a shot at McDonald’s hairstyle. He wrote on X:

    “Any female WNBA fans give me an opinion on Aari McDonalds wig? Looks crazy to me. But I’m no expert.”

    That landed him in hot water with the player himself, as McDonald hit back with the following comments:

    “LOL I usually don’t respond to foolishness like this, but I couldn’t help myself this time. You’re very lame for commenting on a woman’s appearance and for your information it’s not a wig. Don’t make me get
    @stephenasmith🤣.”

    The exchange drew plenty of reactions, with many taking shots at the commentator.

    John Michaels (@Pecker2002) didn’t hold back, writing:

    “Whitlock engagement farming yet again.”

    @GideonMarvel1 added:

    “Whitlock has no room to talk about anyone’s appearance 😂”

    Others praised Aari for standing her ground while adding their own perspective.

    Blessed Momma (@HelpMewgmailacc) offered a heartfelt message:

    “Let him know!! Also I like your hair not that it matters but you’re pretty, smart and a HOOPER! May God continue to bless you in everything you do.”

    @rw441971 chimed in with a dose of humor:

    “Oh no he didn’t…….Maybe it’s time to bring in the enforcer.”

    @tellahaterfucku said:

    “Mind you, ain’t nothing wrong with your hair at all.”

    Some users took issue with Whitlock’s ongoing social media behavior.

    Jason Whitlock Slams Caitlin Clark & Indiana Fever Coach

    Jason Whitlock has spoken a lot against the Indiana Fever over their handling of their star player, Caitlin Clark. The Fever star guard has missed several games this season, including the Commissioner’s Cup final. The Fever confirmed Clark will remain out of action until further notice, focusing on her long-term health.

    Amid this and the poor form of Clark on the court, Whitlock said that both the league and the organization are not doing justice to Clark’s popularity and her skills.

    “The WNBA is in the process of blowing the Caitlin Clark gift,” Whitlock wrote on X. Clark is “miserable and off her game. It’s the most fascinating story in sports. ‘As the WNBA Turns’ is the best soap opera since Luke and Laura got married on General Hospital.”

    Whitlock has also asked for Fever coach Stephanie White’s dismissal. He criticized the coach for overplaying guard Aari McDonald shortly after the signing.
