Former Iowa Hawkeyes superstar and current Indiana Fever All-Star Caitlin Clark may have re-injured her groin once again. On Tuesday, July 15, Clark was seen grimacing and holding her inner right thigh after a successful assist to teammate Kelsey Mitchell with 40 seconds remaining in their eight-point win, 85-77, against the Connecticut Sun in the TD Garden in Boston, Massachusetts.
Clark then abruptly left the game due to what has since been reported as another possible groin injury for the WNBA sophomore, having previously sat out 10 games already in the 2025 season as a result of the same injury. Her brother, Colin, then pointed the blame towards the referees of the Fever-Sun matchup, which he thought caused her sister to be dealt with the injury once again in a now-deleted post on his X/Twitter account.
Caitlin Clark left Tuesday’s 85-77 win with an apparent groin injury that occurred in the final minute. Indiana coach Stephanie White confirmed Clark “felt a little something in her groin,” and that she will get evaluated “and see what happens from there.” https://t.co/bWjgVHWTXB

Coach Stephanie White Details The Next Steps On Caitlin Clark with Her Reaggravated Groin Injury
During the post-game press conference of the Indiana Fever’s regular-season win over the Connecticut Sun on Tuesday, coach Stephanie White was asked about how the team will move forward with Caitlin Clark’s reaggravated groin injury, given that she confirmed that Clark did feel something in that area and that she will need further evaluation.
“I think we just take it one step at a time. We’ll get some food and get on the plane and start talking about New York. She’s being evaluated; we’ll see where we are with that. And certainly, we’ll have another evaluation, probably, and conversation in the morning, see where we are. But this group has played without her. At least we’ve got experience in that. We know that we have a tough opponent in New York,” White shared. (9:01)
“We know that it’s going to be a challenge, no matter what, and we’ve just got to get locked in and ready to compete,” she added.
White and the rest of the Fever will now look to improve on their 12-10 record, good for the No. 3 seed in the East, against the aforementioned New York Liberty on Wednesday, July 16, which will be the first of consecutive matchups in front of New York’s home crowd.
