‘Let’s Gooo’: Caitlin Clark’s Former Teammate Gabbie Marshall Fired Up Over Indiana’s Latest Dub

Former Iowa Hawkeyes guard Gabbie Marshall is still keeping it close with her college basketball teammates, as evident by her recent social media activity. On Sunday, June 29, the Indiana Fever announced on Instagram that its superstar Caitlin Clark has been named one of the captains for this year’s WNBA All-Star Game. The game will be played on July 19 in the Fever’s home arena, the Gainbridge Fieldhouse.

Joining Clark as a captain will be Minnesota Lynx star Napheesa Collier, as both will headline the teams for the 2025 AT&T WNBA All-Star. Many college basketball players, fans, and spectators, including Marshall and the rest of the Hawkeyes faithful, have since rejoiced over Clark’s achievement, as she has now become a two-time All-Star in just two years in the league.

Marshall and Clark were teammates for four productive years (2020-24) under the tutelage of then-coach Lisa Bluder. They made it into the NCAA tournament in every season they played together, along with garnering Big Ten conference success. They then made back-to-back appearances in the national championship games in 2023 and 2024, but lost on both occasions.

In 2023, Iowa lost to coach Kim Mulkey’s LSU Tigers by 17 points, 102-85, and in 2024, Dawn Staley’s South Carolina Gamecocks beat them by 12 points, 87-75. Despite this, both Marshall and Clark shared memorable moments during their time as college basketball teammates.

In her four-year tenure (2020-24), Clark achieved several feats and collected accolades en route to her averages of 28.4 points, 7.1 rebounds, 8.2 assists, and 1.5 steals per game. Meanwhile, for Marshall and her five-year stint (2019-24), she tallied around 6.6 points, 1.5 rebounds, 1.7 assists, and 1.4 steals per contest.
