Who Are Bree Hall’s Parents? Meet the Support System Behind the South Carolina Star

South Carolina Gamecocks defensive star Bree Hall is preparing for the WNBA Draft following her team’s loss to Paige Bueckers’ UConn side in the final of the NCAA Championship.

During her time at South Carolina, Hall won two national championships and three Southeastern Conference Tournament titles, making her one of the most successful players in the program’s history.

Who are the stars behind Bree Hall’s success?

Hall has previously said that her mother, LaShauna Hall, a nurse practitioner, has been one of her biggest supporters throughout her NCAA career.

This includes back at the beginning of the season, when Hall was struggling to come to terms with her new leadership roles.

“It’s your mom, and then it’s Coach,” said Bree. “So I would tell my mom everything. Every thought that comes to my head. Coach, I just felt like I couldn’t tell her the things that I was talking about with my mom.”

LaShauna is also a vocal supporter and defender of her daughter on social media, where she regularly responds to critics of the Gamecocks player.

“When I check the profiles of folks who have negative things to say about my baby, this beautiful beacon of light… You should be ashamed. Find something to do!!! You could never! #keyboardganstas” LaShauna wrote on one of many occasions.

Bree’s father, Bryan Hall, for whom no information is currently available, is also quick to defend his daughter when he has to, including in a joint effort with his wife.

“To those who have things to say about my beautiful daughter. You might want to stfu! Until you can say you’ve won four straight SEC regular season titles. Won three SEC Championships. Been to four straight Final Fours and won two times. You might want to,” Bryan wrote in response to a tweet from his wife.

With Hall gearing up for the WNBA Draft, where criticism and abuse is regular, fans who have words to say about Bryan and LaShauna’s daughter will have to be ready to deal with the heat from the prospect’s parents.

The WNBA Draft is set to take place next week on April 14, where Hall is projected to go late in the first round or early in the second.

Dawn Staley Claims Hall is an ‘All-Time Defensive Player’

According to South Carolina head coach Dawn Staley, Hall is one of the best defensive players in South Carolina history.

The senior guard committed only 41 fouls across 35 games this season, averaging under 1.2 fouls per game.

This included one of the best defensive performances of the season, as Hall locked down Yarden Garzon in her team’s clash against Indiana, limiting the guard, who averaged 14.4 points per game this season, to just 10 points, going 4-13 in attempts.

“Bree’s an elite defender. It’s elite – the things that she does, the people that she has to guard,” Staley said. “In my 25 years of coaching, she’s on my all-time defensive team – all the players that I’ve coached – because she’s very consistent with it, and she relishes the challenge.”
