UConn Huskies guard Azzi Fudd celebrated her friend Ayanna Patterson’s birthday with a set of candid photos of the duo forming a memorable collage. Patterson and Fudd both play for the Huskies and often share about each other on social media.
On Tuesday, Fudd shared a collage on Instagram Stories, including several snapshots of the two together. This had candid basketball moments and sun-soaked memories by the water.
In one photo, Azzi can be seen in a pink bikini top, smiling alongside Ayanna, who is in a black swimsuit and arm sling. They posed near a pier with turquoise waters in the background. Fudd added the caption:
“Happy birthday Yanna 🥰💗 Have the best day 😚”

Ayanna Patterson is the daughter of Andre Patterson and Robin Johnson and is sister to Andre Jr. and Alissa. She joined UConn as a freshman in the 2022-23 season. She most probably met Fudd there.
Like Fudd, Patterson has also missed a lot of playing time due to injuries. Due to knee and shoulder issues, Patterson has missed straight two seasons, including last season when the Huskies became national champions.
Azzi Fudd’s Warm Message To Teammates After Winning 2025 National Championship
Azzi Fudd has grown in her role with UConn, taking leadership position entering the 2025-26 season. She has showered love over each and every one of the girls in the Huskies locker room. After UConn’s 2025 NCAA national championship run, Fudd reflected on her bond, saying:
“Now like I said, this championship means everything. But to do it with this team, this team is so special. These girls, my sisters, my friends for life. We have been through so much together,” Fudd said. “So to win this, get through all that adversity and bring it home, just the bond that we have, the love that we play with, it shows every single night.
“To be able to play not just for each other, but for our seniors, and to bring it home for them and be able to send them off to their next chapter with this kind of storybook ending, bringing it home. Seniors, we love you, and thank you for everything.”
Ayanna Patterson will be hoping to join the Huskies for the 2025-26 season. As of August, she has been fully cleared, and has participated in full team workouts during the summer. She began full contact practice in June and is slowly ramping back to regular competition.
Azzi Fudd has also declared to stay in college for one more year before turning pro. As such, both friends will like to defend the natty in the upcoming season.
