While there has not been an official confirmation yet, all signs are pointing towards Paige Bueckers and Azzi Fudd revealing their relationship. Through shady social media stories, posts, and even interviews, it seems like the duo is more than an on-court dynamic, one that may have been kept as a secret for a while by coach Geno Auriemma’s UConn Huskies program.
Las Vegas Aces guard Sydney Colson and former LSU Tigers star Theresa Plaisance have praised coach Auriemma’s squad for keeping the alleged Bueckers-Fudd relationship a secret for such a long time. Colson and Plaisance talked about this in the first episode of their “Unsupervised” podcast on YouTube.
“What I want everyone to take from this weekend is: Make sure if you do have a secret, the only person that can hold a secret is yourself, and the UConn women’s basketball team. Shout out to them, 100%, because we all heard the speculation,” Plaisance said (7:30).
Colson echoed Plaisance’s point and joked that Bueckers and Fudd must have been paying their teammates to keep it a secret.
Plaisance then claimed that with the opportunities they could’ve gotten with the information on the star duo, the Huskies stayed as a tight-knit group.
“You know how much money they could’ve made in back pay? If they had taken that to a news outlet, several news outlets would have paid for that information. Cold, hard facts. Maybe even like photo evidence. I need it all. Were they cuddling on the team bus? We don’t know, because that’s how tight-lipped the UConn women’s basketball team was,” she added (8:23).
Bueckers is currently in her rookie year in the WNBA with the Dallas Wings, where she is leading the Rookie of the Year standings and has led coach Chris Koclanes’ team to an overall record of 7-17, ranking as the seventh seed in the West.
Bueckers capped off her stellar college hoops career with a national championship alongside Fudd and the rest of coach Auriemma’s team in the 2024-25 season.

In a video posted by @espnw on TikTok on July 18, Paige Bueckers was being interviewed at the orange carpet of the 2025 WNBA All-Star Weekend. The interviewer started by asking how much Bueckers knows about her D1 athlete girlfriend, Azzi Fudd, and if she is ready to answer the questions about her. Bueckers gave a resounding “alright”, before getting all the answers correct.
