The No. 3-versus-No. 6 seed matchup between the Atlanta Dream and the Indiana Fever presents two teams that are both young and up-and-coming. After two games that were both played on each other’s home floor, coach Karl Smesko’s Dream squad and coach Stephanie White’s Fever team have evened things up at one win apiece in their 2025 first-round series of this year’s playoffs.
In game one, the star power of Atlanta’s Allisha Gray and Rhyne Howard shone as both players tied for team-highs in scoring en route to their 80-68 win on their home court. But the injury-riddled Fever put up a gutsy fight, led by standout Aliyah Boston, to tie the series up, 1-1, in their home arena. As the two games have shown, both teams are capable of stealing a victory on each other’s turf, with the last game being played in Atlanta.
With a deciding game three hanging in the balance of which team will make it to his year’s semifinals of the WNBA playoffs, let’s check out how both squads are faring against each other.
Atlanta Dream vs. Indiana Fever: Key Players to Watch
As mentioned, the Fever are playing without a good amount of their key pieces which include the likes of superstar Caitlin Clark and veteran Sophie Cunningham to name a few. With this, the Dream has centered its game plan around standout stalwart Aliyah Boston, as she has been the focal point of both the Dream offense and the Fever defense throughout the first-round series.
But, as game one has shown, Boston will have to get extra production from her teammates, such as key cogs Kelsey Mitchell and Natasha Howard, as the Dream has proven to be more talented than an incomplete Fever squad. Atlanta is spearheaded by the likes of Allisha Gray, Rhyne Howard and Brionna Jones, with a deep mix of experienced players like Brittney Griner and young aspirants such as Te-Hina Paopao off the bench.

Atlanta Dream vs. Indiana Fever Predictions
Should the Fever have been able to play out its stars like Caitlin Clark, then this first-round series would have had very different outcomes. But, as it stands, the Atlanta Dream’s balanced attack from its youth and its much more experienced players is far better than an injury-riddled Fever team. With this, the likely outcome of game three is that Dream reaches the semifinals of the 2025 WNBA Playoffs with a win on their home floor.
