“She Mad Because Angel Reese Made the WNBA”: Fans Disregard Ex-LSU Star’s “Grooming” Allegations Against Kim Mulkey

Coach Kim Mulkey has created a legacy at LSU during her four years in Louisiana. She won the NCAA championship in her third year in charge. She had a plethora of talent in the squad, including Angel Reese, Flau’jae Johnson, and Kamilla Cardoso.

The 2023 season also gave us one of the most iconic rivalries in women’s basketball: Angel Reese vs Caitlin Clark (LSU vs Iowa). Mulkey’s LSU had emerged victorious over Lisa Bluder’s Iowa. Mulkey is a respected figure in the basketball world, but she has faced some criticism from one of her former players.

Former Connecticut Sun player Alexis Morris unloaded on her TikTok, accusing Kim Mulkey of “grooming” her. Safe to say, fans did not believe what Morris had to say.

“She mad because Angel made the WNBA and she didn’t,” one fan claimed.

“Alexis Mental Health is IMPORTANT so please take care of yourself,” one fan commented.

“Her mental health has declined drastically after being cut from the sun. She keeps getting worse after every new failed venture,” another said.

“Girl you need a therapist, HELP,” one user said.

“The timing of her allegations is suspect! Over 3 years later, still nobody is checking or talking about her unless she’s makes crazy statements on SM platforms for reactions and attention. I’m not saying her current statements are lies, just as I wouldn’t say that against anyone who was victim of being groomed, but her timing clearly screams out loudly for attention as we all are fucus upon Angel situation with Sky and Flau’jae last season with LSU,” another explained.

“This is mental illness from someone struggling to stay relevant. Why is this important now? If you dont care about what people think you’d easily move on with your life, but she can’t,” one fan replied.

“When people clout chase….& want to be relevant!!! Morris you were brought on after nobody wanted you- remember Kim gave you a chance after nobody else would!! So speaking on a situation that happened so many years ago is not ideal!! You gotta get you some motion,” another claimed.

“Someone should reach out and get her some counseling, trauma is real,” one user suggested.

Fans were sympathetic and also angry at Morris’ allegations. Most comments suggested that Morris should get therapy.

What Did Alexis Morris’ Say About Kim Mulkey?

Morris was let go by the Connecticut Sun, and fans thought she took out her frustration by blaming her ex-coach, Kim Mulkey.

“I’m not going to say I was just the best. Like I had little problems like sometimes I didn’t go to study hall. I’m a f*cking student athlete like everybody else. I wasn’t a perfect student-athlete. You know what I’m saying? But that has nothing to do with this grooming situation. So it ain’t no ‘let me tie this into this.’ No, it is what it is. Period. So yeah, I’m just speaking. I’m just speaking my truth, man. To me, I hate that I had to go through this sh*t. I hate that I even got to,” she said.

There were some pretty rough and brutal words by the ex-LSU star. Is there a pinch of truth behind her rant, or are the fans right about her frustration?
