“Maybe She Should Keep Her Mouth Closed”: Angel Reese Faces Fans’ Wrath as Sky Sideline Their Star

Angel Reese has come under the heat for her recent comments about her team, Chicago Sky. Currently, the Sky sit 12th in the WNBA standings with a 10-31 record, just a place above the Dallas Wings in the 13th position.

Reese expressed her resentment at the Sky, urging the front office to bring in some good players. Following her statements, she was barred for one half of the game against the Las Vegas Aces on Sept. 7.

Fans are now divided on this measure by the Sky and have mixed opinions on the same. One fan wrote:

“Only Angel Reese can throw her team under the bus and then somehow turn out to be the “victim” of the situation….Again! 🤣🤣🤣”

“If you don’t understand that means you probably have never been on a team or in a locker room. She broke one of the most scared rules of a locker room. You don’t go out and publicly name teammates and throw them under the bus like she did. It’s way too many factors that’s affected by what she did. The biggest one is now there ain’t a single locker room that’s gonna touch her now. That label is going to haunt her. And she already had it in college it was just a bandaid on it,” another fan added.

“If another player had said the same thing about angel. yall would have lost your minds. hopefully its a learning lesson for her. you are never bigger than the team or org you play for,” this fan said.

“Maybe she should keep her mouth closed!” another commented.

“She’ll learn to know her place and stfu 🤣 everyone had her back until she didn’t have hers,” a fan posted.

“But how would yall feel if your teammate basically called you trash which is what Angel did???? called them out by name too,” another asked.

Angel Reese’s comments were directed towards the Sky improving their performance in the league. But furthermore, she also hinted at leaving Windy City if things didn’t pan out well for her. This was something that had pretty much astounded fans, with many believing Angel Reese is looking for trade options in the upcoming off-season.

What did Angel Reese say about the Chicago Sky?

Angel Reese was growing increasingly ‘frustrated’ with the direction the Chicago Sky was headed in. In an interview with the Chicago Tribune, she said:

“I’m not settling for the same s**t we did this year. We have to get good players. We have to get great players. That’s a non-negotiable for me.”

Furthermore, she has been quite vocal about spending her career in the Windy City. But following how the Sky aren’t able to meet her expectations, she is also open to leaving the team and exploring new options. She added:

“I’d like to be here for my career, but if things don’t pan out, obviously I might have to move in a different direction and do what’s best for me. But while I am here, I’m going to try to stay open-minded about what I have here and maximize that as much as I can.”

Following Angel Reese’s comments, the Sky announced that they were going to handle the situation internally and suspended her for one half of a game against the Las Vegas Aces.

Reese also sat out last Friday after receiving her eighth technical in a Wednesday win over the Connecticut Sun. The 23-year-old regrets her comments and says she didn’t mean to put down her teammates with her words.
