Southern Miss head coach Will Hall enters his third season with the program that saw the school take big strides in Year 2 with seven wins and a bowl game victory in 2022. Let’s take a deeper look into the third-year head coach’s contract and what was agreed upon when Hall was hired as the head coach.
Will Hall Salary and Contract in 2023
Back in December of 2020, Hall was named as the new head coach of the Southern Miss Golden Eagles. Hall had agreed to a four-year contract that would be worth $800,000 per year. He also gets a salary pool of $2.1 million a year for his staff.

According to USA Today, Hall received another pay of $900 in 2022 to put his total payout for the year at $800,900. This year, he will receive $824,000 in total pay with him receiving $30,000 for the prior year’s bonus. According to the Hattiesburg American, the $30,000 payout was a mistake as he was supposed to only receive $20,000 for winning a bowl game. Hall will be repaying the school the extra $10,000 owed back to them.
The terms of his buyout include that if Hall was fired by Southern Miss without cause, he would be paid 100% of his remaining salary. Hall would be paid out in monthly installments as opposed to getting the full lump sum of the remaining salary. Now if Hall left the school, he would have to pay the school $1 million starting this year but drop by $500,000 each year after that.
Will Hall’s Net Worth
Hall’s net worth is not public knowledge, but based on what he has been getting paid out in the last two years, he seems to be hovering around $800,000. The bonus received for winning their bowl game last season helped raise that number, but he should stay in the $800,000 range for as long as he is employed at Southern Miss.
