The UNC Tar Heels finished their 2025 campaign with an abysmal 4-8 record, finishing 13th in the ACC, and this has prompted a lot of Bill Belichick’s recruits to leave North Carolina ahead of the next season.
Speaking about transfer portal departures, UNC’s general football manager, Michael Lombardi, instead of focusing on quantity, emphasized the importance of evaluating the roster based on quality while determining each player’s true value. Lombardi also added that a returning player isn’t automatically an asset for the program.
While the transfer portal hasn’t opened just yet, a lot of players have decided their future already ahead of the official January 2-16 off-season window.
Let’s take a look at all the confirmed UNC transfer portal departures ahead of the 2026 college football season.
