Reigning Heisman winner Travis Hunter enters the NFL as one of the most hyped rookies in recent memory. He brings his two-way talent from Colorado to Jacksonville, which picked him second overall in the 2025 NFL draft. He’s expected to play primarily as a cornerback, but could see snaps on offense.
Ahead of his debut, Hunter is having fun with his friend and YouTuber Kai Cenat. Appearing on his live stream, Cenat asked the Jaguars’ two-way star if he could get free NFL tickets. Hunter had to shut him down before going on to offer them for $100.
“I’m selling ’em for a $100,” Hunter said.

But the fun didn’t stop at ticket prices. Hunter also gave the AMP squad a crash course in Jacksonville Jaguars pride, leading a lesson in the team’s iconic “#DUUUVAL” chant. This is Hunter’s expectations from the crowd when he scores his first touchdown in Duval County.

Travis Hunter Leaves Jaguars QB Impressed
In 2025, Travis Hunter will be catching passes from Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence. After spending the training camp, Lawrence walks away impressed by the two-way star, citing his work ethic.
“Travis has been great — just his work ethic, how he’s come in,” Lawrence said at the American Century Championship golf tournament. “He’s been one of the hardest-working guys we have. I think it’s commitment to learning the playbook and trying to learn the two systems. It’s a lot on a rookie, it’s challenging to learn everything and he’s done a nice job.”
“We still have work to do and we’re going to get a lot done in training camp and get us ready to play come September. I’m really excited for him and how he can help our team.”
Ahead of the 2025 season, there have been questions about whether the Jaguars will let Hunter feature on both sides of the ball as a receiver and a cornerback. Hunter and his head coach, Liam Coen, are both positive that they can do so.
They received a vote of support from NFL analyst Domonique Foxworth, who said the following on ESPN’s GET UP:
“This is the time for optimism, I have faith that he can do it. Travis Hunter’s one of the best athletes and one of the smartest athletes that we’ve seen … The physical load’s going to be challenging, but he’s proven that he can handle it in college when there are more plays in a college game. I think the mental part is the part that will be a big challenge because game planning in the NFL requires a ton of attention to detail throughout the week.”
Foxworth thinks that Hunter can be an All-Pro on both sides. It remains to be seen if Hunter can continue to shine as a two-way player as he did during his time with the Colorado Buffaloes.
