Top 10 Caleb Williams Jokes Cracking Up The Internet After Massive Collapse vs Minnesota

Chicago Bears quarterback Caleb Williams started the season opener against the Minnesota Vikings strongly on Monday. He completed all 10 of his first 10 pass attempts, marking the best season-opening streak by a Bears QB since 1978, and capped off the drive with a rushing touchdown.

By halftime, the Bears held a 10-6 lead. However, Williams’ accuracy declined in the second half. While he completed 81% of passes in the first half, the second half saw him complete only 42% of passes. Moreover, there were couple of fruitless drives in the second quarter, staging the set for an incredible comeback from the Vikings as they scored 21 points in the final quarter to win the game 27-24.

After the game, fans started cracking jokes on Williams. We have retained some of the best for you:

What Caleb Williams Said After The Loss

Caleb Williams finished the game, completing 21 of 35 passes (60%) for 210 yards, with one passing touchdown and 58 rushing yards, which also included his early rushing TD. His overall passer rating was 86.6.

In the final quarter, Williams connected on a one-yard touchdown pass to Rome Odunze, with just over two minutes remaining. However, despite forcing a Vikings turnover, there was not enough time left on clock to get within the field-goal range so as to tie the game.

After the game, Williams made his frustrations known.

“We felt like we were dominating the game,” Williams said. “We were in control up to two scores. … That mentality is something that we have, something that we preach. That didn’t happen today.”

The quarterback opted to focus on the bright side of the matchups. He added:

“I think there was a lot of good there. Our communication. He was getting the plays in fast. Being able to get out of the huddle, we need to be better with that. Being able to get up to the line, make checks. I think it’s a growing process. It’s going to keep growing from here.

“The start, this is the start, but definitely not the end. We’ll keep growing. We’ll keep being passionate about this offense, him and I, passionate about this team and winning.”

It remains to be seen if the Bears and Caleb Williams come back strong in their next game against the Detroit Lions at home.
