Who Are Thomas Castellanos’ Parents? A Look at the Family Behind the Florida State’s QB

Florida State’s quarterback Thomas Castellanos was raised by his mother, Yukia Harris. There’s not much public information about his father, mainly because he died when Thomas was just three. According to some reports, his father’s name was Dirt Castellanos.

During his childhood, his mother, Yukia, worked as a nurse to provide for her children. Apparently, she had 11 kids. From some statements offered by the Seminoles player, he reveres his mother’s efforts to raise him and his siblings.

“I’m very thankful for her,” Castellanos said. “She’s the reason why I am who I am today.”

Tragedy revisited the Castellanos family in 2021, when Thomas’ older brother Akeem Jones died. While there aren’t details, the loss was unexpected, with Castellanos admitting that it shook him.

“I was trying to keep going,” Castellanos said, “but it was a big struggle.”

Jones’s death came just a few weeks after Thomas Castellanos committed to the UCF Knights, and the mourning process could have affected his performances with the Big 12 program in his first season in college football.

Thomas Castellanos Leaves The Game Against Kent State With A Leg Injury

Florida State is having an easy time dispatching the Kent State Golden Flashes in Week 4 of college football, with a 52-7 lead halfway through the third quarter.

But not everything is good news for the ACC program, as quarterback Thomas Castellanos was forced off the field with a lower-leg injury in the latter part of the first half of the game.

Castellanos was seen hopping on one leg shortly before the game was temporarily delayed due to inclement weather. He was evaluated by the medical staff on the sidelines and was able to walk off the field on his own.

Quarterback duties have since been taken over by a combination of Kevin Sperry and, to a lesser extent, Brock Glenn. Up until he left the game, Castellanos had 203 passing yards, no touchdowns, an interception, and a completion percentage of 76.9%.
