Why Coco Gauff Fans Are Trolling Stefanos Tsitsipas’ Brother After USA’s Win Over Greece At United Cup 2026

Coco Gauff’s loyal fans blatantly trolled Stefanos Tsitsipas’ brother Petros in the aftermath of Team USA’s 2026 United Cup quarterfinal win over Greece. The behavior of the WTA No. 4’s fans stemmed from a critical remark Tsitsipas’ brother made in the buildup to the quarterfinal tie, through which he questioned Gauff’s serve.

Ahead of the last-eight tie between the USA and Greece at the 2026 United Cup, Petros predicted a win for compatriot and teammate Maria Sakkari against Gauff in their women’s singles clash. The 25-year-old’s prediction was based on the two-time singles Major champion’s often-underwhelming serve, which produced a shocking 431 double faults last year. Petros said:

“Gauff isn’t in her best form. She is struggling with her serve. I like Maria (Sakkari)’s chances.”

Later, when the quarterfinal action did get underway, Gauff first dominated Sakkari in singles, winning the match 6-3, 6-2. Subsequently, the American also got the better of the Greek WTA star in the decisive mixed doubles clash partnering Christian Harrison, securing Team USA’s progress to the tournament’s semis. This gave Gauff’s fans on X (formerly Twitter) the perfect opportunity to ridicule Tsitsipas’ brother Petros.

    One fan wrote:

“She had two matches and a goal; embarrass Petros Tsitsipas.”

    Another added:

“This did not age well for Petros Tsitsipas 🫢🫢”

    Yet another fan chimed in:

    “Coco took that personal 😆 🤣 😂 😹.”

    One commented:

“When is Coco not struggling wit her Serve? still 2x grand slam champ.. Petro learn ball!”

    Another urged:

“The Tsitsipas brothers judging emma and coco is crazy when both girls already have grand slams🤣 learn ball first, please”

    Yet another fan weighed in:

“S**t S**t A** should learn to shut the f**k up”

Coco Gauff cites her mentality as key factor in helping her register dominant win over Maria Sakkari in United Cup QF

In USA’s Round Robin tie against Spain at the 2026 United Cup, Gauff suffered a shocking loss to Jessica Bouzas Maneiro. Following her much improved performance against Sakkari in the quarterfinals and USA’s subsequent win over Greece, the 21-year-old claimed that the adjustments she made to her mentality proved decisive, saying:

“I think just mentality. I think just going for bigger targets, making her play knowing that I off the ground can hang in there or beat almost everyone. So just adjusting. It was difficult like with the first match with the sun on the other side. I don’t think I made the right adjustments, and it was negative. Today it was the opposite.”

Gauff and the rest of the American contingent are now set to clash against either Australia or Poland in the semifinals of the 2026 United Cup.
