Taylor Townsend recently shared a video of her bidding goodbye to her son, Aden Aubrey, as she heads towards the first Grand Slam of the season in Melbourne, Australia. The 29-year-old shared an Instagram story in which she hugged her son before leaving for the tournament.
Townsend added a caption that read:
“First goodbye of 2026. I hate this part, but I will make it worth it for myself and for him”

In October 2020, the American tennis player announced she was expecting her first child. Townsend gave birth to her son, Adyn Aubrey, on 14th March 2021.
Townsend also thanked her close friends and relatives who accompanied her to the airport to lift her spirits before her trip to Australia. The two-time Grand Slam champion is expected to compete in both singles and doubles at the Australian Open.

On Wednesday, Townsend shared a video on social media that showcased her daily life routine in the lead-up to the first Grand Slam of the year as a single mother. In the video, the American could be seen waking up early, preparing a bag full of nutritional food items, supplements, and hydration, waking up her son, getting him ready, and then heading down for practice along with Adyn.
Last year was a successful season for Townsend. She began by winning the Australian Open in Women’s doubles. She ended the year as runner-up in the same discipline at the US Open. She also reached the semi-finals of the Billie Jean King Cup in 2025.
Building on last year’s achievements, the American will be hopeful of starting her Australian swing on a positive note, defending her title, and aiming to carry the momentum from last year in both singles and doubles disciplines.
