Fourth seed Jessica Pegula will face Liudmila Samsonova in the quarterfinals of the Brisbane International 2026.
Pegula received a bye into the second round, where she beat Anna Kalinskaya 6-2, 2-6, 6-4. She was up against Dayana Yastremska in the third round. The American led by a break in the first set and even served for it at 5-4. However, her younger rival bagged four games in a row to snatch the set from her.

Samsonova made a strong start to the second set, going 3-0 up in a flash. Sasnovich then went on her own three-game run to level the score. However, Samsonova took control of the reins once again, taking three of the next four games for a 6-4, 6-4 victory.
