Calls From Fans Mount Against Steve Sarkisian as Texas Botches Philadelphia Eagles’ ‘Tush Push’

Steve Sarkisian’s Texas Longhorns had a tough afternoon in Columbus, Ohio, with the offense led by Arch Manning failing to make a dent on the Ohio State Buckeyes’ defense. They had issues with third- and fourth-down conversions, with the latter being a particular problem, as they have handed the ball to their opposition from a favorable position.

In the third quarter, they even had problems converting what seemed like an easy score in fourth and goal, which would’ve tied the game 7-7. The play seemed to be a tush push in the Philadelphia Eagles style. Julian Sayin and the Buckeyes, in turn, scored, putting the game at 14-0.

Fans have been quick to blame Steve Sarkisian for the Longhorns’ woes this afternoon.

    “Fire Sark,” claimed one fan

“Awful day for anyone unfortunate enough to bet on Texas. Yowza,” joked another person.

“Sark is one of the most overrated college coaches. Can’t blame Arch for his idiot coaches calls,” pointed out an angry fan.

“What the hell is Texas doing??? This is the number 1 team in the country?” asked a dumbfounded fan.

Other fans do seem to blame Arch Manning for the poor display of the Texas offense on Week 1.

“Arch at Texas is the football version of thinking you ordered Wagyu but it’s just Daniel Jones in a burnt-orange wrapper,” complained one person.

Others still have faith that the game is within their reach.

“Just give him time, Texas is walking out of there with a W” said one fan confidently.

Some fans didn’t even think the play seemed like a tush push.

“Not a tush push, but I will take it,” said someone.

Arch Manning and Texas finally broke through against Ohio State in the fourth quarter

Late in the fourth quarter, Arch Manning finally managed to get the Longhorns offense going. On a lightning four-play, 42-second, and 60-yard drive, Manning managed to get Texas on the scoreboard for the first time in the game. He connected a 32-yard touchdown pass to Parker Livingstone with 3:28 left on the clock.

However, this ended up not being enough. While they forced a punt by Ohio State on the next drive, they lost their chance to tie the game in the following drive as the Buckeyes forced the turnover on downs.

Neither Arch Manning nor Julian Sayin had standout performances in a day in which defense was the name of the game. Manning recorded 170 passing yards, completing 17 out of 30 passes and throwing one touchdown pass and one interception. He also had 38 rushing yards.

For his part, Sayin had fewer yards, at 126, but better completion, with 13 completed passes out of 20 attempts. He also had one touchdown pass but had no interceptions.
